I am all over the place this week with my nails. I've probably painted 5 times this week. I'll share my favorites.

The Nail Files

It's Friday! Linking up with Tara and Vicki for the Nail Files. Today I'm sharing mine and Chloe's nails. We are decked out in red, white and blue for Independence Day!!

Here are Chloe's nails. 

These are mine :)

I used all the same polish on our nails. A generic white polish as the base. I need to get a better one. Any recommendations? The red is Finger Paints (striper) in Restoration Red. I love the color, a perfect match to my China Glaze Ruby Pumps (on my toes!). I hate the consistency and the brush. The polish was clumpy and difficult to work with. The brush... small pieces sticking out of the tip that made it difficult to apply an even line. The blue polish is Blue It from Sally Hansen. Ugh. I love the color but this formula has not aged well either. It's has to be a case of "you get what you pay for"? Usually a good top coat helps that. Usually Good to Go by Essie saves my polishes. I am out. Boo...

This weekend we are going on a mini-vaca to Frankenmuth, Michigan. Can't wait to try the fried chicken at the Bavarian Inn. It'll be nice to get away. There won't be any relaxing. Four kids and a pool = overtime.

The Nail Files

So, it's Friday. Not as excited as I should be. Not really sure what's wrong with me. Kinda grumpy/cranky.

I feel like doing this....

No, not really. This is Oliver's toy hamster. Yesterday, while I was making his lunch, Ollie thought it would be a good idea to float his hamster in my coffee. Instantly I was upset and then just as quickly I was laughing and reaching for my camera. It's a pretty funny site.

Moving right along to one of my favorite parts of Friday, the Nail Files. I just love painting my nails and seeing what everyone else is wearing for inspiration. Don't forget to link up with Tara & Vicki so I can see what you're wearing :)

Kind of like a tie-dye effect. I wanted bright colors and more than one. :)

 It's almost neon in some light! Love!

I used Sally Hansen: Mellow Yellow, Sun-Kissed and Coral Reef and then Rimmel's Posh Pink.

My toes are Sun-Kissed (orange) :)

This is what I wore last weekend and most of this week. 

Posh Pink by Rimmel

I love this color so much! It's like Barbie pink :) I love Rimmel polish! It's so durable and long lasting. 

I wish they had more color variety.

Now I have a combination of my last two Friday's posts. I am wearing Fly shown here and an accent nail of Go With the Flow-er shown here.

They matched the crazy fun loud dress I am wearing this weekend to Columbus PRIDE!! Usually it's strictly rainbow themed but Charlie decided this year should be neon and loud. I'm wishing I had bought China Glaze's Flip Flop Fantasy like a week ago. (p.s. I saw this morning it's what Tara is wearing this week!)

I'm really excited for this weekend. It's my favorite!! I'll share some Pride pics from the last few years :)

I hope it's not too many, but I love blogs with lots of pictures! :)

I seem to only be able to write on Fridays. Oh well. I'll have to work on that.

Tomorrow I'm going to a Columbus Crew game followed by a Flogging Molly concert and then drinks and probably dancing. A very busy night!! I did my nails to go with the grey leopard tank top I'll be wearing.

I haven't been to a Crew game in like 5 years, very super excited!!

My husband introduced me to this band. We've been trying to see them together for 4 years. He saw them in Toronto last fall but someone had to watch the kids... So I'm really excited for this concert. The awesome part, it's a free concert after the Crew game!!

We are traveling back to Columbus this weekend for the game. We have a lot of travel ahead of us this summer. With the game, 3 weddings and Pride! It's going to be a great summer! The other great thing about this summer... I'm not pregnant and I'm finally starting to lose the baby weight!! 11 lbs down. Woohoo!!

Today I'm wearing Coral Reef by Sally Hansen. 

I think the color is gorgeous!! I bought it at Target on our way home from Columbus. The only problem I had with this polish is that it was really thick. I had trouble with streaking and air bubbles. I had to take the polish off and redo my nails. Love the color hate the consistency. I'm out of my Essie Good to Go which usually fixes my problems with air bubbles. 

The color has more orange in it than what's showing up in the pictures. It really is pretty.

Today is Turquoise & Caicos by Essie. I accented with Rimmel's White French Tip. 

The color is a little on the sheer color but after 3 coats and a fourth on a few nails,  the color is gorgeous!!!

I'll start with what's on my nails today. It's my birthday mani! Had to be pink (because it's me and there had to sparkles a.k.a. confetti!!). Love this!!

Crown Me Already by OPI

The beginning of the week I wore Cherry Crush by Revlon. A nice red shimmer. I love the color, but I really dislike the formula with Revlon. It always bubbles. However, I have learned that using my Essie Good to Go saves the Revlon polishes I have. It smooths it all out and I get a nice smooth shine-y finish- no bubbles!

I've used it once. It seemed to work.

Crown Me Already by OPI- I became obsessed with color between ladies using it here and nails I've seen on Instagram, I just had to have it! I am NOT disappointed :)

Bachelorette Bash by Essie- gorgeous magenta color. Really like this!

Raise Awareness by Essie- This is a back up bottle. Have it. Love it. Needed more! :)

Today is my birthday, as I announced already. I'm making a strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream icing. If it turns out well, I'll share it. And then for dinner I'm making calzones. Everything from scratch. Kinda feel like an idiot for creating so much work for myself. AJ offered to buy a cake and take me out to dinner. Oh well. This is what I wanted! And then... I'm making the kids watch Goonies with me! I heart that movie!

Happy Friday the 13th! ( I was born on a Friday so I feel like today is an extra special day!!)

"How Cute is That?" - Sephora by OPI

I love this color soo much!!! Such a perfect shimmery peachy-coral!!

For the weekend I'm wearing Essence Glamorous Life.  I showed it off here.

Charlie is giving me a party on Saturday, so I thought pink and sparkle-y would be appropriate!

I bought the Essie Turquoise & Caicos, can't wait to wear it. I've also ordered OPI's Crown Me Already! AJ's response, "don't you have enough polish?" eek!!! Um, NO. lol My actual response, "don't you have enough video games?" ;) 

I started writing this post on Thursday and I'm now finishing it on Friday. My nails have chipped & I had to do touch ups. The Glamorous Life may not make it till tomorrow. Might have to pick up something new :)

I can't wait to see what everyone else is wearing!

I really liked this look. But I chipped a nail and had to redo them. I love dark polish but it's so hard to remove it. Does anyone have a favorite polish remover??

A Lovely Secret by Essence

I was not a huge fan of this color. It was a lot prettier in the bottle. Once it was on my nails it had a gritty appearance. Also, the picture shows more periwinkle than lavendar (which it was in the bottle.) Not shimmery like I had hoped. I wore this all of maybe 6 hours.

Yup, a favorite! I love it. This is on my nails right now. 

Last weekend's brunch was rescheduled for this Sunday. I'm really hoping to find several of the polishes on my wish list. As I mentioned last week... Essie's Turquoise & Caicos and now I really want a soft coral/peach color. Maybe Essie's Tart Deco or Sephora by OPI's How Cute is That?

I'm leaning towards the Sephora shade, not only because I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sephora, but I got an email today with a 15% discount coupon, woohoo! While I'm there I'll work on a birthday wish list for my Sweetie. It's in 2 weeks!

I am wearing China Glaze's "For Audrey". I love this color so much!! Definitely one of my faves! 

The weather has been amazing! Sunny and warm without being too hot. I hope it continues this weekend. I'm excited, tonight is family movie night! We are doing burgers & homemade french fries and then watching the new Muppet movie. We saw it in the theater, so cute! Then on Sunday, brunch with Kate, which means a trip to Sephora & Trade Secrets.... new nail polish!!! I'm on the hunt for a perfect shimmery coral! I'm hoping Trade Secrets has restocked their Essie cuz the supply has been awful for the last month or so! I'm also looking to get my hands on Essie's Turquoise & Caicos

The Nail Files 3/09/2012

It's Friday!! Thank goodness! Time to share my nails of the week. Linking up with Tara and Vicki for Friday's Nail Files

This is "glamorous life" by essence. I'm loving it! It reminds me of OPI's The One That Got Away but more pink. I had a lot of trouble capturing how pretty the color is. After a gazillion pictures, this was the closest. My local Shoppers just started carrying essence. I grabbed 3 bottles! At $1.49, how could I not?! I also picked up "a lovely secret" the lavender and "walk of fame" the brown. I don't know much about this line. But the color has been on for 3 days and I'm not bored with it and it hasn't chipped. Awesome!!

Earlier in the week I was playing with my nails. I wanted to try the leopard pattern and the half moon. Both done free hand were ok. I was trying to use St. Patrick's day colors (green & gold) but maybe the green was too dark. I don't know. I liked the leopard but not the color combo  or maybe not the moon thing, just green or gold nails.

Not much has been going on this week other than lots of sickies! Hopefully we'll all be well soon. Tomorrow Josh and Chloe leave for the states for spring break. We are driving into Michigan for the exchange. The bright spot in this little road trip?? Hubby is taking me to Cheesecake Factory for dinner. I have no idea what I'll order for a meal, but I know I'll be having this for dessert...

Tuxedo!!! Can NOT wait! Oliver is going to love this!
